Our 40-bed residential substance abuse program utilizes a social model based on the 12-step program and addresses each client’s comprehensive needs. Research supports the efficacy of the social model, particularly with indigent populations in which abstaining from alcohol and other substances is reinforced through peer support and expectations of personal responsibility. The 12-step model provides the basis for the program used by Cache Creek Lodge, and provides a broad spiritual component inclusive of various faiths.
Residential care clients commit to a regimented schedule seven days a week. They receive individual and group counseling from trained clinical staff with experience working with previously-incarcerated populations. Our staff teaches courses on financial literacy, seeking employment, and other life skills, balanced with time for experiential art, and recreational therapies.
For the population served at Cache Creek Lodge, long-term sobriety and community re-integration requires that clients be able to secure both affordable housing and employment. Staff provides training and guidance on completing applications, preparing resumes, and interviewing. In addition, clients are taught how to research housing and job opportunities and access public and community-based health and social services.
Cache Creek Lodge runs a 25-bed transitional housing program for male clients in various stages of recovery. Our Transitional Housing is a wonderful way for our clients to get back into society after completing our program. It gives them affordable housing so they can find work and save some money before trying to enter back into a world they have not dealt with in a long time. It provides structure and meetings to help them stay in recovery.
