Employees in this position must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and make sound decisions in regards to the health, welfare, and safety of our clients and other staff. They are trusted with the privacy and confidentiality of our clients and fellow staff members. Residential Specialists must be comfortable interacting with and supporting Counseling Staff in addressing serious, addictive, criminal, and mental health issues presented by our clients.
The individual hired for the Residential Specialist position will be working directly with residential and Sober Living clients, AOD Counselors, and Administrative Staff. P/T, F/T, Graveyard, and On-Call shifts are available. Hours can range from 16-40 hrs per week. The Residential Specialist provides support and supervision for Cache Creek Lodge clients. This is an essential role in the life of recovering addicts and is a key role for modeling the appropriate behavior and mindset to those entering into recovery.
Duties will and can include:
- Waking clients up for breakfast.
- Updating client forms and paperwork.
- Conducting hourly rounds.
- Making sure clients get to groups on time throughout the day.
- Monitoring all ongoing client activities such as chores and education.
- Keeping an ongoing log of admits and discharges.
- Monitoring of medications taken by clients.
- Conducting initial intakes.
- Conducting urine and/or saliva drug and alcohol tests.
- Possible transportation of clients to appointments.
- Monitoring of clients while they are sleeping.
- Monitoring curfew for those with jobs.
